Why should I use FKD S nmineral wool for thermal insulation of exterior walls?
FKD S mineral wool has excellent thermal insulation capacity (better than most products on the market), and in addition to the properties mentioned – enhanced fire safety, high permeability, it is also highly adaptable to local unevenness of reconstructed facades. FKD S boards due to the lower necessary thickness of the material (better lambda), allow easier manipulation and consequently faster installation, reducing overall labor costs.
Why should I choose this product?
Our FKD S mineral wool product will give you savings on heating costs, increased passive fire safety of buildings, and improved acoustic insulation of exterior walls. It does all this with a reduced insulation thickness and lower application and handling costs. At the same time the exterior wall retains the capacity to transmit water vapour (diffusion resistance is not increased, the building “breathes”).
Why is a reduced thickness of FKD S material sufficient for thermal insulation purposes?
FKD S mineral wool has the best thermal insulation properties (lambda = 0,036 [W/m∙K]) in the contact insulation systems sector which use stone mineral wool.

A better Lambda value has been achieved due to the special orientation of the fibres and the increased number of static air molecules in the spaces between the fibres, thereby reducing the thermal conductivity of the product.
For what types of buildings and applications can FKD S be used?
FKD S is suitable for all types of exterior walls of family houses, apartment blocks and industrial buildings, in contact thermal insulation systems (contact facades).
With what types of materials of perimeter walls and structures can FKD S be used?
FKD S is suitable for all types of exterior claddings of masonry, monolithic concrete, panel and prefabricated buildings (wooden). FKD S is recommended to be used only for ETICS.
For multilayer walls as well as for ventilated facade we recommend glass mineral wool products: TP 116, Classic 040, Classic 039, Classic 032 or stone mineral wool products: NOBASIL FRN, NOBASIL FRK, NOBASIL FRE.Can FKD S be used for thermal insulation in older buildings, or is it intended only for new buildings?
We recommend FKD S mineral wool equally for new buildings and for thermal insulation of the facades of older masonry, reinforced concrete (block of flats) and panel buildings. Based on its high flexibility, the product can be used for additional thermal insulation of reconstructed exterior walls.
Does FKD S comply with all the required parameters and does it have any certificates?
The product complies with all the production parameters according to EN 13 162, and of course, all the characteristics required by ETAG 004. These results can be substantiated by a CE Certificate and the relevant protocols.
How can the correct functioning of FKD S in a thermal insulation system be achieved?
The thermal insulation system must include the types of system components (adhesive, plaster), that are recommended for use with mineral fibre materials, and therefore have properties identical to rock mineral wool materials. Mineral wool is also an excellent transmitter of air and moisture in the form of water vapour, thus allowing the building to “breathe”. We recommended the use of only certified components (adhesive, mesh, filler, plaster, anchors). Thermal insulation should only be installed by trained companies that can show a licence for implementation of the particular thermal insulation system.
